Build your site with the Namezero Site Builder!

Try It Now!

There are really just a few simple steps to take to build your family site.

1. Register your family domain name on the babies2001.com site. Once registered, your domain will be ready for your use in approximately 2 to 3 days. Since the babies2001.com site is a special promotional program, pre-qualified parents registering through
this site may disregard any language found in the sign-up process which indicates a period longer than 2 or 3 days.

2. Sign up for a free or paid Web site building service.

3. Use provided templates to build your site with text, photos and special features such as guestbooks.

4. Point your domain to the Web site you just built to give your friends and family the easy-to-remember location for your page.

Most parents want a simple way to share photos and news about their children with friends and family. Your Namezero domain control panel tools will allow you to point your domain to any existing Web site, or a site that you build for your family. For a simple, no-cost way to share photos and news about your new baby, we suggest you explore ad-supported Web site hosting services such as Tripod.com.

The Tripod service, and others like it, will allow you to use simple, supplied templates to build a Web site where you can add photos, news, guest books and music to your Web page in a short time, with no experience necessary. Once you've completed your baby site, you may use the unique features of the Namezero control panel to point your domain to your home page. All you have to do is log into the control panel of your domain and point your domain to your baby Web site. This is a simple process, and you get complete instruction on how to point your domain in the control panel and in the Namezero Help section.

Once you point your domain to your Web site, you can tell your friends and family the memorable family domain name they can visit to see all the latest news! If you wish to build and host a Web site for your family which is not ad supported, Namezero is offering a complete Web site building solution as of June 19, 2001, that is just as easy to use as the free builder, but which has no advertising on your Web site. See the Namezero homepage for more information about the SiteBuilder Plus program.

Your no-cost family domain name is also an ad-supported service, and can be upgraded at any time to the Plus version of the Namezero service. The Plus service allows you to dismiss any advertising that appears on your domain, and has additional value-added features such as a 10mb POP e-mail account and live phone support.

See the Namezero Help Section for additional instructions on the use of your new domain, e-mail and URL forwarding.

Web Page Security Tips & Recommendations

  1. Protect your personal information. Domains are licensed to a licensee. The licensee is listed in a record found in the domain registry database. A Whois search is used to look up records in the registry database. A Whois search can provide information about domains, name, and registrars for an individual domain.

Members of the Free Namezero domain services will find that Namezero is the listed licensee of their chosen domain name and will therefore not have to be concerned about any disclosure of private information in the Whois.

If you decide to upgrade your domain to a Plus/paid membership, you may, at your discretion, choose to list yourself as the licensee. Please note that if you choose to list yourself as the licensee that your information will then be available for anyone who searches the Whois record by your domain name.
  2. Never put your address or phone number on your personal Web page/site.
  3. Understand that people may still be directed to your Web site either through search engines or other processes. If there is something that you don’t want the whole world to know or see than don’t put it on your web site. Children’s names, family facts and graphic content should be given careful consideration before being posted on your site.
  4. To protect your e-mail address, you can use the Namezero site builder to add an e-mail link on your Web page that does not disclose your specific e-mail address.
  5. Be discrete about putting specific dates, activities or information on your Web site that can allude anyone that you will be away from your home (i.e., vacation or business trip).
